At St Saviour's, we place a great deal of emphasis on internet safety, and in addition to having it integrated into our curriculum, we plan for wider curricular connections and opportunities for online digital safety. When internet safety issues arise within school, we address these and communicate with parents to inform them of the social media issues as well as provide information and support.

Our secure IT at school network prevents children accessing inappropriate information and blocks websites that are not necessary for their learning, e.g. Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. However, we are aware that parents may not have the same security settings in the home environment. Parents must also be aware that children can access internet services via mobile telephones and video games systems.  We provide some information and links about the ways you can ensure your child is practising online safety. We also hope this will be a starting point for you to talk to your children about the need to keep safe online and that they will feel they can tell you about anything that worries them.
