Year 3 Retreat Day
Year 3 children were invited to join in with a class retreat day, where they spent time growing closer to God through various prayer activities. The retreat focus was 'God's World' and it allowed the children to have time to remember God's power and the importance of our love for the world, the environment and others around us. Year 3 spent time thinking about the areas of the world in most need during this time, and thought about how they can try to be there for them just like Jesus did for those he encountered.
Through prayer activities such as a nature walk, singing, art work, planting and silent reflection the children were able to step away from a busy school day and take some time to thank God for His creation and reflect on the mark each individual leaves on the Earth each day. The children each planted their own seed to take home with them, to nurture and to remind them that God has allowed us the opportunity to help new life grow in His world.
A quote from Orange during Year 3's end of day reflection -
'My favourite part of today was that we got to get closer to God and spend time doing this together'
